The objective is clear: To Search, Identify, Recognize And Acknowledge CREATIVE HIDDEN TALENT.

OMA - OBJECTIVES

  • The main objective of this award is to create an environment, which would
provide a platform to recognize, promote and encourage innovative, creative and practical ideas, which are ORIGINAL.

    • Development of ideas/concepts into a prototype and consumer friendly

    International fairs and exhibitions.

IMPLEMENTATION STEPS

  1. The biggest challenge of the OMA team, is to reach out to all those interested in innovations and inventions, through the OMA laid down procedure, and to provide the right kind of media exposure, to promote the movement and create awareness amongst those inclined towards inventions and creative innovations.

  2. The motivation of teachers and parents to encourage children towards creative,
and constructive thinking through various conferences, workshops, symposiums and seminars, will be undertaken in a big way.

  3. Dissemination of information regarding to the general public regarding OMA is reposed in the hands of a qualified Public Relation team.

  4. Marketing the innovations, which fall in the category of MARKETABLE INNOVATIONS and safeguarding and protecting the rights of the innovators, is the responsibility of the organizers.

  5. To create a few role model schools for this award, which would initiate and set an
example of this concept nationwide, has already been chalked out with the chosen set of schools.

WHY THIS CONTEST?

Innovative ideas require identification, appraisal and practical application towards the advancement of society. Many noble intentions and great ideas have withered away. This has largely been due to the absence of a Medium, to develop the innovations and inventions, and showcase their practical applicability.

The OMA award seeks to search and identify the creative and innovative achievements of the talented; whose talents would otherwise go, unnoticed for want of education and resources.

THE FIRST OMA AWARD was in collaboration with the Infosys foundation.
The Children were awarded by Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi, the then Honorable Union Minister for HRD, Science and Technology and Ocean Development, at a function held at Hyatt Regency in New Delhi 22nd Sep.2002. Out of 500 nominations, 16 children were awarded with cash prizes, certificates and medals. Keeping the Mission objective and aim in mind, we took nominations from various Delhi schools, of their most innovative, creative, talented children for the ORIGINAL MIND AWARD-2002.
