- To create a few role model schools for this award, which
would initiate and set an
example of this concept nationwide, has already been chalked
out with the chosen set of schools.
WHY THIS CONTEST?
Innovative ideas require identification,
appraisal and practical application towards the advancement
of society. Many noble intentions and great ideas have withered
away. This has largely been due to the absence of a Medium,
to develop the innovations and inventions, and showcase their
practical applicability.
The OMA award seeks to search and identify
the creative and innovative achievements of the talented;
whose talents would otherwise go, unnoticed for want of education
and resources.
THE FIRST OMA AWARD was in collaboration with the Infosys
foundation.
The Children were awarded by Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi, the
then Honorable Union Minister for HRD, Science and Technology
and Ocean Development, at a function held at Hyatt Regency
in New Delhi 22nd Sep.2002. Out of 500 nominations, 16 children
were awarded with cash prizes, certificates and medals. Keeping
the Mission objective and aim in mind, we took nominations
