Scholarship proposal for “Children of Vulnerable Families”:
India Vision Foundation- a pioneer organization in the field of education and prison reforms has been undertaking one of the projects “Children of vulnerable Families” since its inception. The children of Tihar Prison inmates above the age of 6yrs are the target group of the project. The Foundation with the help of its well wishers and other likeminded persons facilitate their education along with the basic needs as their parents have been imprisoned and unable to meet it accordingly. The project incorporates: School Visits, Home Visits, Prison visits, counseling, parent-child meets, exposure trips, competitions, workshops and seminars, hobby classes, festival celebration etc. At present near about 190 children and their families have been enjoying the benefit from the foundation and considered the foundation as their “Mother Organization”.
The proposal aims at:
- To nurture the talents and interest of the children under the constructive training programmes.
- To make the children more confident and independent.
- To inculcate social, moral and ethical values among the children
- To give a platform to the children for sharpening their inborn skills and talents for growing as a responsible citizens
- To use the young world’s talents, skills and interests constructively for the betterment of the society
- To bring into practice the concept of value based education in the children’s life through the strategy of ‘learning by doing’
Executive summary
With this support the years of hard work will finally bear fruit in the form of confident young adults who with the back up of education and the wisdom of their experiences will go onto support their family and steer them away from crime of any sort.
